This unique dance company, Monica Bill Barnes & Company, fascinates me and Ira Glass. I saw them at the live This American Life movie I saw a few weeks ago. There's nothing like it. It's kind of weird. They let dance include more than just pretty movements. It's still appealing to look at though. See what you think.

It reminds me of our "Some Guys Have All the Luck" music video--only more coordinated and no licking of front teeth and wearing of fisherman hats.
ReplyDeleteOh, contemporary modern dance I love you so much! I really do, I'm not being sarcastic. One of the reasons I love it is because it let's me see the whole human through dance not just the pretty parts, and then the quirky weird parts somehow become pretty because they're true. You know? (That being said I am aware that there is a lot of crappy modern dance out there, sadly I've been a part of a fair share of it.) Still, not every book you read is going to be on your A list either.
